Captain Fawcett originates from a legend that tells us that in 1905 Captain Peabody Fawcett RN Ret’d disappeared while sailing to Ubangi, a major tributary of the Congo River.

No trace of his expedition was found until 1997, when an old trunk was purchased from an old house. Among the moldy belongings was found an exquisite dressing containing ointments, salves and adventure journals.

Many of the stories in the journal detailed recipes for the exotic ingredients that the captain used in his personal care.
