Grafton is another fragrance whose name is intertwined and inspired by the rich naval tradition of Great Britain. This classic, woody fragrance with spicy oriental notes was named to commemorate a long line of ships HMS Grafton. The completion of the first ship HMS Grafton in 1679 marked the beginning of a long and noble history for a long line of ships that have borne this name and served around the world from the 17th century to the present day. It was offered to Truefitt's newly blended perfume in 1983 at the suggestion of one of the officers of HMS Grafton who, while being groomed by a Truefitt barber, particularly liked this unmistakably masculine fougère scent and suggested that the new perfume be named after the graceful line of HM ship.
